Focus Friday

It is in the second through fourth chapters of the Book of Song of Solomon that the Bride says no to Jesus.  She says she is afraid of heights and will not go the mountain with him.  She says “no” not out of rebellion but out of immaturity.  Jesus longs for her to come with him so he withdraws himself from her for a season while she searches for him.  She becomes lovesick for him when she realizes one day that he has withdrawn from her.  She misses who he is to her, he has become her friend.  She searches after him and invites others to help her find him.    Finally by the end of Chapter 4 she says “Yes, I will go with you.  I will overcome my fears to be with you Jesus.”

What are you afraid Jesus might ask you to do?  What could you do to make it easier to say yes when he calls for you? Pray about this today.
